Tuesday, April 14 – Caesarea by the Sea and more…

• Caesarea by the Sea – Palatial city on the sea built by Herod the Great in 22 BC and where after Jesus resurection, the Gospel first went out to the Gentiles

• Mt. Carmel – Hillside where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal

• Valley of Armageddon Overlook – Also known as the Jezreel Valley and the final battlefield described in the Book of Revelation

• Drive to the Sea of Galilee

Wednesday, April 15 – Wake up to the sunrise on the Sea of Galilee!

Thursday, April 16 – Glorious Day in the the Golan Heights!

• Dan – Beautiful nature reserve and the site of ancient Dan where King Jeroboam set up a golden calf and a mud brick gate that Abraham may have entered after he rescued Lot

• Caesarea Phillipi – The pagan city where Jesus asks Peter “Who do you say that I am?”

• Golan Heights – Overlook Syria from Mt. Bental and learn about the recent wars fought by Israel and the importance of this strategic location

Friday, April 17 – South to the Dead Sea

• Beit She’an – Spectacular archeological site with the ruins of a palatial Greco-Roman city and the sight where the Philistines hung the head of King Saul

• Qumran – Pass by where the Dead Sea Scrolls were first discovered in a cave in the 1940’s

• Arrive at Dead Sea – Here you can enjoy floating in the beautiful, salty waters 1400 ft below sea level – lowest place on earth.

Saturday, April 18 – Masada and more…

• Masada – Herod’s desert fortress, where in 73 AD Jewish zealots made their final revolt against Roman rule

• Optional hike in to En Gedi – Desert Oasis where King Saul encountered David and his men

• Free time in afternoon to swim at Dead Sea or get a spa treatment

Sunday, April 19 – It’s up to Jerusalem!

• Drive up to Jerusalem

• Mount of Olives – Site of Jesus’ ascension with a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount

• Dominus Flevit Chapel - commemorates the tears Jesus shed in the garden

• Garden of Gethsemane – In this area Jesus prayed the night before he was betrayed

• Church of All Nations

• Western Wall & Western Wall Tunnels – For centuries a small portion of the western wall of the Temple Mount was the closest a religious Jew could get to the site of the Jewish Temple. Known as the Western Wall, Jews travel from around the world to pray there. We will visit the Western Wall and tour a tunnel that follows the length of this wall and takes us down to the streets from the time of Jesus and to the original foundation stones of the Temple Mount

Monday, April 20 – Amazing Day in the Old City of Jerusalem

• Temple Mount & Dome of the Rock – Just before Jesus’ birth, Herod the Great built an enormous raised platform to serve as a plaza surrounding the second Jewish Temple. That platform is known today as the Temple Mount and on it sits the iconic Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque two of Islam’s holiest sites and one of the most fought over places in the world. The second Jewish Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD

• Pools of Bethesda & St. Anne’s Church – Beautiful church located next to the pools where Jesus asks the lame man “Do you want to be well?”

• Via Dolorosa to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher - believed to be where Jesus was crucified, buried and rose again

• City of David & Hezekiah’s Tunnel – The location of David’s Jerusalem and the amazing way they got water into the city

• Pool of Siloam – The place where Jesus sent a blind man to wash his eyes to regain his sight

• Southern Steps – The ancient steps to the entrance of the Temple Mount, where Jesus would have walked on his way “up to the Temple”

Tuesday, April 21 – Around Jerusalem

• Holy Land Model – A remarkable scale model of the City of Jerusalem during Jesus’ lifetime

• Shrine of the Book Museum – The museum that houses many of the Dead Sea Scrolls that are the oldest copies of the Bible in existence

• Yad Vashem - Israel’s Holocaust Museum 

• Garden Tomb and Communion Service – A Garden with an ancient tomb near a hillside that reflects where Jesus could have been crucified, buried and resurrected 

• Farewell Dinner in Jerusalem

• Jordan Group stays overnight at Inbal Hotel - Jerusalem

• Those departing on the late-night flight to the US will transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for mid-night departure
